Chess Quartz Tiles

Design Ideas on How to Boost your Home’s Look with Quartz Tiles

Quartz tiles are a favourite among home and office designers because they come at a relatively cheap price, but are elegant and classy in their own way. Quartz tiles grace the floor of elegant offices and even celebrity homes. They are flexible enough to suit a quiet zen themed house or even a typical modern day design.

There are many ways you can use quartz tiles, for they have a wide variety of color and design. Here are a few ideas on how you can turn your humble home into an elegant, classy and creative abode.

1) Chess Tiles

Quartz is a very versatile tile. It can be used on floors, walls and even countertops. Floors can be very mundane and boring to look at. But, if you want to have that playful jester, retro-ish look why not go with chess tiles? – even patterns as simple as the “chequered pattern” will give your floors some real spice. This pattern is a bit tricky though because you risk looking a bit tacky if you can’t make the floors compliment the area.

2) Mosaic Walls

Making mosaics are probably one of the most fun and creative ways to design our homes. If you’re decorating a rest house, you may want to entertain the design idea of an under the sea theme. Or probably go a bit art nouveau-ish with swirls and florals. It doesn’t even have to be an entire wall, you can just do a small piece which you can frame and hang.

3) Universe Inspired Room

Starlight Quartz tiles have those mirror flecks that sometimes evoke the image of stars. To make a universe inspired room, what you have to do is cover the entire walls with black starlight quartz tiles. For the “planets”, you can use Japanese lanterns of varying sizes. You can put a huge lantern at the center which will be the sun and a few others around it as the planets.

4) Quartz Countertops

Quartz are categorized as vitreous tiles, meaning they do not absorb as much and are resistant to stains. Quartz countertops are great because they’re cheap but can evoke the ambience of a high-end bar. Since these tiles come in a wide range of colors, you can request specific tile color to make sure that your countertops match the design concept of your kitchen.

Going along with out-of-the-box ideas may be risky if you don’t know how to mix and match effectively. However, the goal here is to have fun and to rouse the creative artist inside us.
